[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Discharge of Firearm Investigation and Arrest

On 08-17-18 around 2:20 a.m., an officer with the City of Carbondale Police Department heard and responded to gunfire in the area of North Wall Street at East Oak Street. Officers learned from a resident in the 400 block of East Oak Street that their residence had been struck by the gunfire. During the course of the investigation, officers identified the suspect as Traeshonne D. Blythe, age 25 of Carbondale. Officers determined the incident began as an argument between Blythe and an acquaintance, who was an occupant of the residence. Officers located and arrested Blythe at his nearby residence and charged him Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Blythe is incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
