Aggravated Robbery and Shots Fired Investigation

CARBONDALE – City of Carbondale police officers responded to the area of Chili's (1240 East Main Street) regarding reports of shots fired. Officers learned a robbery occurred in the parking lot of a nearby business which led the victim's friends to chase the suspect into and out of businesses in the 1200 block of East Main. The suspect was then chased into the parking lot near Chili's where the victim fired a handgun at the suspect. No one was injured during the incident. Officers have one suspect in custody at this time. The suspect’s information is not being released until more information becomes available. The investigation is active and ongoing.
