Update -Criminal Damage to Property Investigations
For Immediate Release –
Carbondale – City of Carbondale Police officers and detectives, with the assistance of the public and the Marion Police Department, identified Dustin L. Randolph, 41 of Marion as the suspect in a series of damage to property incidents where windows of Carbondale businesses were broken. With assistance from the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, Carbondale detectives obtained an arrest warrant on 07-07-23 for Randolph charging him with five counts of felony Criminal Damage to Property. Randolph has not yet been located. If seen, please do not approach Randolph. Contact law enforcement immediately. The investigation is active and ongoing.

The City of Carbondale, Police Department is asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspect involved in several damage to property incidents where windows of business were broken. The incidents occurred between 06-27-23 and 06/29/2023 between midnight to 0500 hours in the 800 and 900 and 1400 blocks of West Main Street and the 100 block of North Illinois. Each incident occurred at a law firm and involved the suspect damaging property with rocks and/or pieces of concrete. The suspect used a hard object to break out the window. The suspect is seen wearing a dark-colored “Huk” brand shirt, white over blue or black “trucker style” ball cap, dark color with a light color sole hiking style boots or shoes. The suspect conceals his hands by wearing socks or clothing item. The incidents are believed to be related. Below are images taken from security video from two of the incidents. The investigation into the incidents are active and ongoing.
