Criminal Damage to Property Investigations
For Immediate Release –
Carbondale – The City of Carbondale Police Department is investigating several reports of Criminal Damage to Property occurring between 06-27-23 and 06-30-23. The damage occurred between midnight and 5:00 a.m. in the 800, 900, 1400, and 1800 blocks of West Main Street, as well as the 100 block of North Illinois Avenue. Four of the five incidents occurred at a law firms and involved the suspect damaging property with rocks or pieces of concrete. The most recent incident involved damage to a retail store. The suspect has been captured on surveillance video wearing a dark-colored “Huk” brand shirt, a white and blue or black hat, and hiking-style boots or shoes. The incidents are believed to be related. Below are some of the images collected in the course of the investigation so far. The investigation into these incidents is active and ongoing.
