[ARCHIVED] Burglary to Motor Vehicle Investigation

Carbondale – On 06-02-23 at 11:18 p.m. City of Carbondale police officers responded to a parking lot in the 900 block of East Park Street regarding a report of a possible auto burglary in progress by a group of several juveniles. The suspects fled the area but officers eventually located and arrested a 15-year-old juvenile male for burglary to a motor vehicle and resisting a peace officer, and a 16-year-old juvenile male for burglary to a motor vehicle and criminal trespass to a vehicle. Both juveniles are from Carbondale and were released to their families after conferring with the Jackson County States Attorney’s Office. The investigation is active and ongoing.
