Aggravated Battery with a Firearm Arrest 

Carbondale – On 05/24/23 at approximately 2:35 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 1000 block of South Brehm Lane in response to a shooting victim. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the subsequent investigation, on 5/26/23 detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jordan S. Bryson, 26 years old of Carbondale, Illinois with the assistance of the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office. On 5/26/23 Bryson was arrested without incident and transported to the Jackson County Jail for incarceration. Bryson is being held on a $500,000 bail for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The investigation continues to be active and ongoing.

Prior Release - On 05/24/23 at approximately 2:35 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 1000 block of South Brehm Lane in response to a shooting victim. Officers located a victim with gunshot wounds. The victim reported that a black male acquaintance shot them during an argument over a transaction. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment. The investigation is active and ongoing.
