FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CARBONDALE – This Saturday, March 25th, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., a temporary pop-up roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Lewis Lane and Grand Avenue.
The pop-up project is a short-term street design trial aimed at collecting data about a potential new street design in a low-cost, low-risk environment. The use of materials such as cones, recycling bins, and tires will be utilized to construct the temporary roundabout.
This project offers community members an opportunity to visualize safer street options and provide feedback. The data collected will help inform future decision-making about the intersection's design.
For more information or to volunteer for the event, please contact the City of Carbondale’s Senior Planner, Molly Maxwell, at 618-457-3233.
