Carbondale - On 03-12-23 at 11:14 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of West College Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers met with the victim who reported being battered by the suspect, Dakota W. Mitchell, age 30 of Carbondale. During the course of the investigation, officers learned Mitchell battered the victim and had unlawfully fired a handgun inside the residence on 03-10-23. No injuries were reported as a result of incident. Mitchell was arrested for Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Domestic Battery. Mitchell and incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The investigation is active and ongoing.
