[ARCHIVED] Theft Investigation

On 08-18-22 at approximately 3:54 p.m., City of Carbondale Police Department officers responded to a business in the 1700 block of West Main Street in reference to a theft.  Officers learned the suspect arrived at the business at approximately 3:30 p.m. in a white extended cab truck with tinted windows, a black gas cap cover, a black tool box in the bed, oversized tires and black rims (pictured below) pulling a metal drop gate trailer with white rims and a spare tire. The suspect defeated a lock on a mower for sale on the parking lot, loaded the mower onto the trailer and drove away westbound in the 1700 block of West Sycamore Street.  The suspect is last seen at approximately 3:53 p.m. driving west on Main Street passing New Era Road.  The suspect was described as a white male wearing a blue shirt, black pants, black shoes, tan hat, and a black face mask. The investigation is active and ongoing
