[ARCHIVED] Traffic Crash and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Investigation

On 05-01-22 at 9:11 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of West Main Street in reference to a report of a traffic crash.  Officers found a single vehicle crashed into the front of a business causing extensive damage.  The Jackson County Ambulance Service drove the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle, Jeffrey P. Bautch, 45 of Murphysboro, to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  Officers arrested Bautch and issued him citations for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Improper Lane Usage, No Valid Driver’s License, and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.  There were no other injuries reported as a result of the crash.  The investigation into the incident continues.
