FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CARBONDALE – The City of Carbondale, Carbondale NAACP, and Egyptian Building Trades have partnered together to host a Career Expo at the Carbondale Civic Center on Tuesday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Career Expo will provide job seekers or anyone interested in pursuing a trades career the opportunity to explore various local union opportunities. These opportunities range from Electricians, Laborers, Plumbers and Pipefitters, Iron Workers, Roofers, and more!
“The training is free and the jobs provide high wages, health insurance, and pension benefits. There are few places where people can learn a craft without being strapped with thousands of dollars of student debt. And best of all, you can earn while you learn with on-the-job training. We are excited to have this opportunity to showcase what union construction trades can offer,” said Tate Wright, Business Representative for Local 702, IBEW.
“Union membership in the building trades can provide you with a career path that offers high-paying jobs, ongoing training, and great benefits. If you’re looking for an exciting career where you’ll work on a wide range of projects, please take this opportunity to learn more about what our local unions can offer,” said Carbondale City Manager Gary Williams.
