[ARCHIVED] Theft of a Security Camera Investigation

On 03-20-22 at 11:34 a.m. City of Carbondale police officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of South Taylor Drive in reference to a theft of a security camera.  Officers learned the suspect stole a security camera from the side of the residence at about 4:33 a.m. that same morning.  This is the second report of stolen security cameras within the last week in Carbondale.  There is not any suspect information to provide at this time.  The police department encourages residents with external security cameras to consider mounting them to a fixed object and at a height where they cannot be stolen or tampered with.  The investigation is active and ongoing.
