[ARCHIVED] Commercial Burglary Investigation

On 03-07-22 at 4:18 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of North Illinois Avenue in reference to a report of a burglary in progress.  During the course of the investigation, officers learned the suspect, Carlos J. Phenix, 66 of Carbondale, entered the storage area of a vehicle owned by the business and stole property.  Phenix was arrested at the scene for Burglary to Motor Vehicle and incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.  The investigation is active and ongoing.
