[ARCHIVED] Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Trespassing


On 01-29-22 at 1:51 a.m., officers located a vehicle in the 700 block of North Wall Street associated with a trespass complaint and a report of an individual armed with a handgun inside the vehicle.  City of Carbondale police officers found Charleton J. Patterson, 28 of Carbondale in the vehicle.  During the course of the investigation, officers arrested Patterson for trespassing and found him to be in possession of a handgun.  Officers arrested Patterson for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Criminal Trespass to Real Property. Patterson was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.  Investigators are continuing to investigate this incident.  Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-457-2677.
