Since the start of COVID-19, portable outdoor appliances are increasingly being used for restaurants, schools, offices, and other businesses to heat outdoor areas. The National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) has published an Outdoor Heater Safety fact sheet. This fact sheet includes information to help ensure that propane heaters and electric heaters for outdoor heating are used safely and in accordance with NFPA®1, Fire Code (2018 edition).
