[ARCHIVED] Armed Robbery Investigation

On 12-28-21 at approximately 8:33 p.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 400 block of East College Street in reference to a report of an armed robbery.  Officers met with the victim who reported that he was walking with an acquaintance in the 400 block of East College Street when he was approached by three suspects described as black males wearing masks. At least two of the suspects possessed handguns. The suspects battered the victim and took property from him. The suspects are believed to have left the area in two vehicles, one of which was described by the victim as a tan Honda. The victim had injuries that did not require hospitalization as a result of the incident.  The suspects are believed to be known by the acquaintance of the victim.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.  The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
