On 12-15-2021 at 11:28 a.m. Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 900 block of East Walnut Street in reference to a report of shots fired. Officers learned the suspect fired several shots and was seen running northbound from the area. No injuries and no property damage were reported as a result of the shooting. Officers located the suspect, Bobby L, Barnes, 24 of Marion, who was attempting to run from officers in the 800 block of East Main Street. Officers quickly apprehended the suspect without further incident. Officers charged Barnes with Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon and he was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
