[ARCHIVED] Home Invasion Investigation

On 11-27-21 at approximately 11:11 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 1900 block of South Illinois Avenue in reference to a report of a battery. Officers learned the suspect, identified as Zayivion D. Lewis, age 20 of Mexico, Misssouri, forced his way into a residence and battered a juvenile victim.  Officers located and arrested Lewis for Home Invasion.  After conferring with the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, Lewis was released on a recognizance bond.  The victim received a minor injury as a result of the incident.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.  The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
