Trick-Or-Treat WEB

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CARBONDALE – Carbondale Mayor John “Mike” Henry is excited to announce trick-or-treat hours for the City of Carbondale will be Sunday, October 31, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The City of Carbondale asks that trick-or-treaters wear masks as they go door-to-door and when they cannot keep a safe distance from others. Trick-or-treaters are also encouraged to wear reflective tape or clothing and have their parents check their candy for potentially harmful objects.

CONTESTS

Do you think your Halloween decorations are the spookiest in town? Or are they the most unique? Share pictures of your Halloween décor with the City, and be entered into our Halloween Decorating Contest! There will be two categories: Residential and Business. The winner in both categories will receive a $50 gift card to Ace Hardware and a yard sign to proudly display. To submit an entry, email pictures of your display to [email protected] or tag us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. (Please include a way to contact you later, in case you are a winner!) Entries will be judged on creativity, scare factor, and originality. All entries must be submitted by October 20, 2021.

When you have finished carving your pumpkin, please send us a picture to enter the Pumpkin Carving Contest! Make sure to include your name and phone number so we can contact you if you are the winner. Email your pictures to [email protected] by October 26. All ages are welcome to participate. The winner of this contest will receive a Halloween Gift Basket!

HALLOWEEN EVENTS

We hope you’ll celebrate the spooky season by attending some of our community’s Halloween festivities! Check out carbondalehalloween.com for a list of events ranging from old favorites like the Pumpkin Glow, Safe Halloween, The Great Carbondale Pumpkin Race, and more!  Many of these events will require masks, even outdoors, so please be courteous and check their event details for more information.
