[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm Investigation

On 09/11/21 at 11:42 p.m., Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 100 block of North Washington Street in reference to a disturbance.  Responding officers heard several shots coming from the area as they responded to the scene.  During the course of the investigation, officers arrested Charleton J. Patterson, 29 of Carbondale, for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon. There were no reported injuries, but one parked vehicle was struck by at least one bullet. Patterson was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.  The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
