On July 25th, 2021 at approximately 12:28 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of North Washington Street. Officers did not find any victims or property damage. In the course of the investigation, officers identified Jonquel M. Gaston, 23 of Carbondale as the suspect who fired a handgun. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Gaston for the original charge of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
On August 24th, 2021 at approximately 12:20 a.m., Officers located Gaston in the 300 block of South Marion Street and arrested him on the warrant for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Gaston is incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
