[ARCHIVED] Sunset Concert Series Returning Summer 2021

Sunset Concerts 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CARBONDALE – An exciting summer tradition will return in late July! The City of Carbondale, in partnership with the SIU Student Center, SIU Student Programming Council, and Carbondale Park District, is pleased to announce the popular Sunset Concert Series will make a comeback in 2021.

When Illinois moved into Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan, organizers began scheduling bands for the concert series. Typically bands are booked in December, but after a significant effort, the lineup has been finalized.

The free concerts will happen each Thursday at 7 p.m. beginning July 22, running through August 26. This year, the concerts will alternate locations between the Shryock Auditorium steps on the SIU campus and Turley Park.
