[ARCHIVED] Burglary Investigation

On 05-12-21 at 7:17 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Department officers responded to a business in the 900 block of South Illinois Avenue regarding a burglary.  During the investigation, officers learned the suspect unlawfully entered the business twice between 05-11-21 at 9:33 p.m. and 05-12-21 at 2:07 a.m. and stole cash and other property from the business.  Officers reviewed video surveillance from the business. The suspect is observed as a 40 -50 year old black male wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants, dark Nike shoes and a light colored wide brimmed hat.   Photographs of the suspect are attached below.  The investigation into this incident is active and ongoing.  The City of Carbondale Police Department is asking for community’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
