[ARCHIVED] Armed Robbery Investigation

On 01-17-19 at 12:07 PM Carbondale Police received a report of an armed robbery which just occurred at Han’s Market located at 863 E. Grand. The employee reported that the suspect displayed a large knife and demanded money. The suspect then fled the area on a bicycle. CPD Officers responded and quickly located a suspect matching the description running from the area. The suspect fled into an occupied apartment in The Fields Apartment complex. With the assistance of the resident, they were able to locate and arrest the suspect without further incident. Officers and Detectives on scene were able to recover evidence related to this robbery.

The suspect is a juvenile, who was also wanted for a 2018 Armed Robbery case. The suspect was later incarcerated. No one was injured during the course of the robbery.
