On 01-18-2021 at 9:50 p.m., officers of the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to a business in the 1900 block of South Illinois Avenue in reference to a report of a male attempting to steal a car by impersonating a police officer. During the course of the investigation officers arrested Lukas R. Jones, 31 of Carbondale, for impersonating a police officer and disorderly conduct. Jones was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
