[ARCHIVED] Impersonating A Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct Arrest

On 01-18-2021 at 9:50 p.m., officers of the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to a business in the 1900 block of South Illinois Avenue in reference to a report of a male attempting to steal a car by impersonating a police officer.   During the course of the investigation officers arrested Lukas R. Jones, 31 of Carbondale, for impersonating a police officer and disorderly conduct.  Jones was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.  The investigation into the incident is continuing.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the police department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.
