[ARCHIVED] Armed Robbery

On 01-14-21 at approximately 10:50 a.m., The City of Carbondale Police Department received a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 800 block of E. Grand Avenue.  Officers learned the victim arranged an on-line meeting with some acquaintances to conduct a narcotics transaction.  The suspects arrived and displayed a handgun.  The suspects then stole property from the victim.   The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and the victim pursued them in the victim’s vehicle.  The suspects fired a gun at the victim and his vehicle.  The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department located the suspects in Murphysboro a short time later.  The suspects are identified as Rodney L. Henderson, 26, of Murphysboro, and Jarquez K. Brown, 25, of Murphysboro. Henderson and Brown were both arrested, charged with Armed Robbery and incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail.   The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the police department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS.
