[ARCHIVED] Felony Criminal Damage to Property

On April 19th, 2020 at approximately 4:49 A.M, City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 400 block of W. Jackson Street in reference to reports of damaged vehicles. As the officers investigated, other officers in the area heard the sounds of glass breaking. Officers found several windows broken out of a business in the 200 block of East Main Street.  Officers at the scene of the damaged windows then heard glass breaking across the street and went to investigate. Officers discovered an individual, later identified as Nickolas Furlow 25 years of age of Christopher, IL, actively breaking windows at a second business. Furlow attempted to flee on foot and after a brief foot pursuit, officers captured Furlow and took him into custody without further incident. The investigation revealed Furlow was responsible for all of the property damage at all of the locations. Officers charged Furlow with multiple counts of felony Criminal Damage to Property. Furlow was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
