[ARCHIVED] Home Invasion - Update

On 03-20-20 at approximately 6:40 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Sycamore Street in reference to a report of a home invasion. Officers learned the suspects entered the victim’s home, battered the victim and stole property. On 03-30-2020 officers arrested Jeremiah A. Akin, age 30 of Carbondale, and Zachery O. Rennison, age 28 of Carbondale on charges of Home Invasion. Akin and Rennison were released pending future court dates. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call City of Carbondale Police Department at (618) 457-3200. The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.

Previous Release 03-20-20:

On 03-20-2020 at approximately 6:39 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of West Sycamore Street in reference to a report of a Home Invasion. Officers met with the victim and learned three suspects forced entry into the victim’s residence and demanded money. The suspects battered the victim causing minor injuries that did not require medical attention. The suspects removed property from the residence and fled on foot. The suspects are described as two white males and a white female and all of them used clothing items to cover their faces. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
