[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

On 10-07-19 at approximately 11:26 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 400 block of East Chestnut Street in reference to shots fired.  Officers found a 5 year old female gunshot victim.  The Jackson County Ambulance Service treated her at the scene and later took her to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale where doctors stabilized her.  The victim is currently at a St. Louis area hospital for further treatment and care.  Officers and detectives arrested three juvenile suspects located in the area. There is not any additional suspect information to provide at this time.  The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and the Jackson County Ambulance Service assisted in this investigation.  The investigation is currently active and ongoing.
