Veterans Day Ceremony

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

CARBONDALE – Southern Illinois University and the City of Carbondale are teaming up to host the 2018 Veterans Day Ceremony to honor the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.


The event will be held at Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at the corner of Washington and E. Main streets, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 11.


There will be opening remarks by SIU Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Meera Komarraju, a keynote address by retired U.S. Army 1st Sgt. John P. Okerson and a proclamation by Carbondale Mayor John "Mike" Henry.
