Juneteenth Block Party

Getting to Know Your Roots will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 5 - 9 pm at 309 East Jackson Street in Carbondale, IL. The street will be blocked off from Marion to Gum Street with parking at the old Bank of Carbondale, First Southern Bank, and Hopewell Church. We will have a day filled with family fun full of music, activities, entertainment, and food offerings. We will also have a free paint experience for the first 100 attendees keeping with the theme of Getting to Know Your Roots. Some of the entertainment planned is face painting, a Double Dutch contest, cookie decorating, and a hula hoop contest. We look forward to celebrating Juneteenth as a community.
