In May 2023, the City of Carbondale completed its first Community-scale GHG (greenhouse gas) and equivalent Emissions Inventory for the baseline year of 2019.
This inventory was conducted through the ICLEILocal Governments for Sustainability ClearPathSoftware in accordance with the U.S. CommunityProtocol for Accounting and Reporting GreenhouseGas Emissions (Community Protocol) and the LocalGovernment Operations Protocol for Accounting and Reporting Greenhouse Gas Emissions (LGOProtocol).
The subsequent report details the key findings of the first Community-scale GHG Emissions Inventory.
Completion of a GHG Inventory is the first step toward tangible emissions reductions in order to achieve our commitment to Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and a 45% reduction by 2030.
