INVITATION FOR BIDS
The City of Carbondale, Illinois, does hereby invite sealed bids for
Illinois Avenue Streetscape Improvements

Bids will be received until Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., by mail or delivered by hand to the Finance Department Purchasing Office, City of Carbondale, 200 South Illinois Avenue, Carbondale, Illinois, immediately after which time and at such place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., in the Finance Department Library/Conference Room, City Hall, 200 South Illinois Avenue, so that any questions may be answered at that time.
Proposals shall be submitted on forms furnished by the City and shall be marked Bid No. 17-33. Plans and specifications may be obtained upon application starting Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in the Finance Department Purchasing Office, City of Carbondale, 200 South Illinois Avenue, Carbondale, Illinois, upon the payment of $50.00 per set. The payment shall be made payable to the City of Carbondale, and is NOT refundable.
Bid security in the form of a certified bank check or bank draft payable to the City of Carbondale, or a satisfactory bid bond, in the amount of 10% of the total bid price, as specified in Section 2-7 of the General Conditions, and the Bidders and Contractor’s MBE Participation Report, Contractor’s Affirmative Action Certification, Contractor’s Employee Utilization must be completed and shall be submitted with each bid. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without consent of the City of Carbondale.
The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder complying with the provisions of this Invitation for Bid. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informality or technicality in any proposal in the interest of the City.
